Everything you need to know
before visiting Sparta

Reservations, outdoor tables, vegetarian and gluten-free options, waiting times, payments and delivery: here you'll find answers to the questions we get asked most often.

Do I need to book?

No, Sparta does not take reservations. The place works like a true street food spot: you arrive, order at the counter and find a seat either inside or at the outdoor tables. On weekends and during peak hours it can get very busy, so if you are coming as a group, it is better to avoid the busiest lunch and dinner times or come a little earlier or later.

Do you have outdoor seating?

Yes, both locations have outdoor tables. During the warmer season, it is the best way to enjoy the food in an informal and friendly atmosphere, which is exactly the spirit Sparta was created with.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables in both locations.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. Sparta is an informal place, with no fuss and no long waits. The street food format also works well for children. The menu includes simple and familiar dishes, such as pita with chicken and fries, which usually appeal to younger guests too.

Do you have vegetarian options?

Yes. Sparta's menu includes several meat-free options: the Vegetarian Pita with chickpea croquettes, feta, crispy onion and aubergine sauce, Spanakopita, which is filo pastry with feta and spinach, Tyropita, which is filo pastry with feta, Baked Feta with cherry tomatoes and olives, courgette croquettes, aubergine and feta croquettes, Dolmadakia, which are rice-stuffed vine leaves, and a wide selection of plant-based sauces and sides such as hummus, tzatziki and melitzanosalata.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Some dishes are naturally gluten-free, such as the large salads, grilled souvlaki, many sauces and some appetizers. For guests with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance, it is always recommended to call the restaurant directly before coming, in order to check the individual dishes and preparation methods. How long is the wait for the order?

Just a few minutes. At Sparta, service is quick as it's a street food spot rather than a traditional restaurant. You order at the counter and your meal is prepared in no time, even at the busiest times. And if you order just a pita, it takes us only 15 seconds to prepare it! That's one of the reasons why it's popular at lunchtime with people who are short on time.

Can I pay by card?

Yes, both locations accept credit and debit cards.

Can I order delivery?

Yes. Sparta is available on Glovo for home delivery in Rome, from Tuesday to Sunday. Alternatively, takeaway is always available directly from the restaurant.
